The Shadeports industry was established in South Africa in 1982 in Kwa-Zulu Natal
The Shadeports industry was established in South Africa in 1982 in Kwa-Zulu Natal. With many years of experience in the South African market we have a full understanding of requirements for clients, both in cost-effectiveness and durability of product.
The inspiration behind this brand came about as a result of three damaging hailstorms which caused extensive damage within a six-week period. The need arose amongst homeowners, motor trade specialists, as well commerce and industry, for an alternative protection to the traditional galvanized-sheeted shadeports. Protection was needed for vehicles, which would not only be cost effective, but aesthetically pleasing at the same time. To satisfy these needs a shadeport structure was developed to allow for complete protection without creating an eye-sore – the perfect solution to large parking areas outdoors.
The operation was later relocated to Gauteng and focused on the manufacturing and erection of shadeport structures, which included products such as shade netting, carports and agricultural netting. In 1995, management adopted the strategy to focus on the key sectors and development of the competencies needed in the different areas. Catering to industries around South Africa, from agriculture to retail, corporate needs and public centres, these stunning products ensure that the maximum protection is achieved for your vehicles.
The present shareholders re-integrated the marketing and manufacturing operations in one company to better service our customers.
Today Megashade Projects (Pty) Ltd is one of the leading suppliers of shadeports in Gauteng with an approximate 40% market share. We manufacture and erect cost effective quality products , including various products such as shade netting, and our aim is to obtain ISO 9002 accreditation. Megashade also exports products to Africa and other countries.
